STRENGTHENING RELATIONSHIPS AT THE 2012 BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY EXPO

Released on October 2, 2012

Join public-sector purchasers and Saskatchewan suppliers as they network and do business at the 2012 Business Opportunity Expo, held today from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This free, one-day event, hosted by the Ministry of Central Services, is taking place at the Queensbury Convention Centre in Regina, and includes a tradeshow and presentations about the New West Partnership, and the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership.

"Saskatchewan has one of the strongest economies in Canada and a vibrant business community," Central Services Minister Nancy Heppner said. "The Business Opportunity Expo provides a place for the business community and government purchasers to network, learn and seek new business relationships."

Approximately 25 public-sector agencies are participating in the Expo, along with businesses of all sizes from across the province. Representatives from Saskatchewan Crown corporations and the municipal, academic and school sectors are also on hand.

"Business representatives can also learn more about the SaskTenders website - a one-stop portal for accessing public-sector procurement opportunities," Heppner said. "Registration to the site is free, and once registered suppliers have access to many opportunities daily."

Heppner will be speaking at the expo during a noon luncheon. She will bring greetings from the government, and will discuss purchasing and other opportunities for Saskatchewan and Western businesses.
