GOVERNMENT OF SASKATCHEWAN LAUNCHES APP TO CELEBRATE THE DIAMOND JUBILEE

Released on May 11, 2012

Explore Saskatchewan's Relationship to The Crown with the Touch of Your Finger

Today the Government of Saskatchewan launched a free iPhone app in celebration of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Crown in Saskatchewan app is an exciting way to stay up-to-date on all aspects of the Diamond Jubilee and the Royal Visit to the province.

The app will stream live tweets, pictures and video clips from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales as he tours Regina with The Duchess of Cornwall on May 22 and 23.

Users will also have the ability to send personalized digital postcards depicting idyllic scenes from across the province directly to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in celebration of her 60-year reign and her close relationship with the people of Saskatchewan.

The app is also a great source of information on Diamond Jubilee related events going on across the province throughout the year.

Through the app, the Government of Saskatchewan is working directly with stakeholders and provincial partners to support and promote community based events that will be taking place through the Diamond Jubilee year.

The Crown in Saskatchewan app is the first to be developed by the Government of Saskatchewan and can be downloaded at http://jubileesk.ca or find it on the App Store.

The Diamond Jubilee, which began on February 6, 2012, is a yearlong event recognized across the Commonwealth celebrating the 60-year reign of Her Majesty The Queen.
