The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed May 6 to 12, North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week. The theme this year is Safety and Health: A Commitment for Life. Making it Work!
NAOSH Week gives employers, employees, and the general public an opportunity to reflect on current safety practices and determine how they can be improved to better protect people in the workplace.
"Safety must be a priority for all of us," Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan said. "Government, employers, industry, unions and workers all have a role to play. Together we can build incident and injury free communities."
To celebrate NAOSH week, luncheon events are being held in Regina where Keynote speaker Paul Pascoe, a safety expert, will provide new insight into teamwork, inter-dependence, our safety instincts and the importance of communication.
Saskatchewan NAOSH week activities are promoted and co-ordinated by the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, the Workers' Compensation Board, the Government of Canada, Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, Saskatchewan Safety Associations and the Saskatchewan Safety Council.
