PROVINCE ANNOUNCES 2012 SASKATCHEWANDERER

Released on May 3, 2012

The Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport announced Jeff Stock has won the "best summer job ever".

Stock is the 2012 Saskatchewanderer - a summer student position designed to travel around Saskatchewan and blog about everything that makes the province special.

"We are looking forward to another summer of showcasing Saskatchewan," Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Bill Hutchinson said. "The Saskatchewanderer project recently won an award at the Tourism Saskatchewan Awards of Excellence gala and we look forward to building on that success."

Stock won an interview with the Ministry through an online voting contest. He was then selected as the 2012 Saskatchewanderer based on his resume, his video skills and his ability to market the province in a positive way.

"I have travelled all over the world, most recently through the United Kingdom, Germany and India, and yet I haven't seen nearly enough of my home province," Stock said. "I can't wait to see more of Saskatchewan and show others the true potential of our province."

Bennett Dunlop Ford is providing a vehicle for the Saskatchewanderer, while CAA Saskatchewan is providing the fuel and a CAA membership.

"We were really pleased with the project last year and we have ideas to partner even more with some online contests this year," President of Bennett Dunlop Ford Trevor Boquist said.

"Last year's Saskatchewanderer visited some of our CAA locations around the province and showed a side of Saskatchewan not everyone has seen," CAA Saskatchewan CEO and President Fred Titanich said. "We are looking forward to following Jeff's adventures and helping keep him safe on the road this summer."
