NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR PREMIER'S AWARD

Released on March 15, 2012

Saskatchewan residents have until April 30, 2012, to nominate provincial employees for the 2012 Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service. The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the government and citizens of the province.

"Our public service is part of the Saskatchewan advantage," Premier Brad Wall said. "Their hard work and dedication to this province help make Saskatchewan what it is today. I would like to encourage everyone from across the province to take a moment and nominate an individual or team from the public service that, through their work, has affected the people of this province for the better."

Individuals or teams from government ministries, some Treasury Board Crown corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public. Selections are made by an independent committee. Up to six awards will be announced during National Public Service Week in June, with the presentation event occurring in the fall.
