GOVERNMENT OF SASKATCHEWAN TO PROVIDE $1.7 MILLION TO MILLIGAN BIO-TECH

Released on March 12, 2012

The Provincial Government will provide up to $1.7 million to Milligan Bio-Tech under the Saskatchewan Biofuels Investment Opportunity (SaskBIO) program.

Milligan Bio-Tech is a Canadian bio-diesel production company based in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. The company's strong focus on research and development has resulted in bio-diesel that meets or exceeds North American and European standards, as well as a number of environmentally friendly co-products.

"We are pleased to provide support to Milligan Bio-Tech through the SaskBIO program," Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud said. "These projects contribute to the growth of our rural economy, create jobs and provide additional marketing opportunities for our farmers."

"We appreciate this support, which will help us continue to grow our business and support the local and provincial economies," Milligan Bio-Tech President and CEO Joe Holash said. "We are committed to providing high-quality bio-diesel products and we thank the provincial government for this contribution through the SaskBIO program."

The SaskBIO program provides repayable contributions for the construction or expansion of transportation biofuel production facilities in Saskatchewan. The program ends on March 31, 2012.
