Travis Brunner of Brunner's Construction Ltd. in Saskatoon, has pleaded guilty to one count under the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act related to failure to provide competent and sufficient supervision to workers.
The charge relates to a routine inspection of an excavation site in Saskatoon on April 8, 2010. Workers were observed in a 3.3 metre deep trench that was not properly shored. Two charges against Brunner's Construction Ltd. were stayed in court.
OHS conducts approximately 4,500 worksite inspections annually to ensure standards are known and enforced.
