SaskTel has expanded its 4G wireless network to 13 more locations across the province of Saskatchewan.
"Our 4G wireless network delivers increased bandwidth, greater international roaming and a wider selection of wireless devices," SaskTel President and CEO Ron Styles said. "4G will enable SaskTel to make a smooth transition to future generations of wireless technology."
The 13 tower locations, along with 4G coverage details, are:
- Barford: provides coverage to the area south of Tisdale including highway 35.
- Bertwell and Reserve: provide coverage to the area south of Hudson Bay including highway 9.
- Crooked Lake and Dubuc: provide coverage to Crooked Lake Provincial Park and the area north of Broadview including highways 201 and 247.
- Lac Pelletier: provides coverage to the cottage community of Lac Pelletier and the surrounding area.
- Prince Albert Exhibition: provides improved coverage and increased capacity in and around the Prince Albert Exhibition Grounds north of 15th Street East and east of 6th Avenue East.
- Regina Mount Royal: provides improved coverage in Mount Royal in northwest Regina.
- Regina Walter Scott: provides improved coverage to provincial government offices located in Wascana Centre.

The 4G network provides increased bandwidth with download speeds approximately four times faster than existing speeds (up to 21 megabits per second). It is also compatible with approximately 80 per cent of all networks across the world and international roaming customers will be able to use their SaskTel 4G device on 4G networks anywhere.
SaskTel plans to support the existing CDMA digital network for the foreseeable future to ensure that all wireless customers continue to enjoy a full selection of wireless services that best suit their needs. Customers can now choose from a wide range of devices for both the existing CDMA network and the new 4G network.
