YVETTE MOORE GALLERY OPENING AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE

Released on May 18, 2011

Minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Bill Hutchinson will join acclaimed Saskatchewan artist Yvette Moore for the opening of The House Gallery by Yvette Moore at Government House on May 18, at 7 p.m.

"Yvette's work features scenes of prairie life that are uniquely Saskatchewan and instantly recognizable to everyone," Hutchinson said. "Looking at Yvette's paintings reminds us of what it is to be from this province, so it is very fitting that this new gallery is located in Government House."

Members of the public are invited to attend the opening of the gallery which features exclusively Canadian artists as well as unique works by Moore. The gallery is the result of a partnership between Moore, Government House and the Government House Historical Society.

"This wonderful new partnership celebrates Saskatchewan art and culture," Moore said. "I am proud and humbled by this opportunity. Working with institutions like Government House and the Historical Society is thrilling and I am honoured to be associated with them. Showcasing such cultural excellence is very exciting."
