CELEBRATE CANADA DAY IN THE CAPITAL CITY

Citizens and visitors to Saskatchewan's capital are invited to the Opening Ceremonies of Regina's Canada Day Celebration in Wascana Park on July 1.

"It is very appropriate that we be in beautiful Wascana Park, with our Legislative Building and all that it represents to our province in the background, to celebrate the birth of our great country," Minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Bill Hutchinson said. "I invite everyone in the capital city to come out and take part in what is sure to be an amazing day."

The opening ceremony will commence on the Main Stage across the lawn from the Legislative Building at 12 noon. The program will include a 21 Gun Salute and music performances by The Expressions and Acapella Attitude.

Also on Canada Day, Lieutenant Governor Dr. Gordon Barnhart will be hosting the annual Lieutenant Governor's Garden Party at Government House.

The Garden Party runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with the official program beginning at 2 p.m. The party will include live entertainment, refreshments and activities for all. The House Gallery by Yvette Moore, Butler's Pantry and the Amédée Forget Museum will also be open to the public.
