SASKATCHEWAN EXPORTS BILLIONS IN 2010

Saskatchewan's goods were in high demand in 2010 according to the latest report by Statistics Canada.

In 2010, merchandise exports were $23.9 billion, an increase of 9.7 per cent over 2009.

"Saskatchewan has been exporting quality goods that are in demand in other provinces and internationally," Enterprise Minister Jeremy Harrison said. "The rise in merchandise exports shows that our industries are supplying their traditional markets and making in-roads into new ones."

Saskatchewan exports of goods totalled $2.29 billion in December 2010, an increase of 20.7 per cent over the same period in December 2009. This percentage change ranked fourth among the provinces for the month.
