Released on December 14, 2011

Premier Brad Wall welcomes news that Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Saskatchewan as part of a Royal Tour of Canada during the Diamond Jubilee year of Her Majesty The Queen's reign as Queen of Canada.

"We are honoured that Saskatchewan has been included as part of this tour commemorating and celebrating this important anniversary of Her Majesty's reign," Wall said. "The Queen has maintained a close relationship with the people of our province and we look forward to this opportunity to share our celebration of Her Majesty's dedication to our country and all Canadians with Their Royal Highnesses."

The tour will take place in May 2012 and will include stops in New Brunswick and Ontario as well as Saskatchewan. Details of the tour will be announced at a later date.

The Prince of Wales last visited Saskatchewan in 2001 and was invested as the first honorary member of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. This will be The Duchess of Cornwall's first official visit.
