CASINO REGINA FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT NORTH CENTRAL FAMILY CENTRE

Released on April 13, 2011

The sparkle of the legendary Parisian cabaret Moulin Rouge is coming to the Casino Regina Show Lounge, benefiting an important Regina organization that enhances the lives of many in our community.

The Casino Regina Charity Royale - A Black Tie Benefit will be held on Saturday, May 14. This special event will raise funds in support of the North Central Family Centre (NCFC), a non-profit charitable organization that provides programming, educational, recreational, social and cultural activities in Regina's inner city community.

Minister responsible for SaskGaming Ken Cheveldayoff said the partnership with the NCFC is a natural fit.

"Both organizations pride themselves on offering opportunities for people to reach their full potential," Cheveldayoff said. "SaskGaming is proud of the strong entertainment value offered at Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw to generate profits in a socially responsible manner. SaskGaming contributes in excess of $750,000 to numerous organizations and events that positively impact our communities each year."

Charity Royale promises to be the premiere charity event of the year, featuring celebrity guests, show-stopping entertainment, a five-star menu and high-end items on the auction block. The door prize is a lavish trip for two to Paris - including two tickets to the world-renowned Moulin Rouge and dinner at the Eiffel Tower - valued at more than $5,000.

The fundraising goal has been set at $50,000. SaskGaming has pledged to match that amount, bringing the total potential donation to $100,000.

"We are deeply touched and overwhelmed that Casino Regina has chosen to confer on us this high honour of partnership on their first annual Casino Regina Charity Royale," North Central Family Centre Executive Director Sandy Wankel said. "This partnership will allow our children, youth and families to participate in positive opportunities while at the same time contribute to the revitalization of Regina's North Central community."

SaskGaming, through Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw, contributes more than $750,000 annually to community organizations in support of events and initiatives that make our communities better places to be.
