REGINA RESTAURANT PLEADS GUILTY TO LABOUR STANDARDS VIOLATIONS

The Real Tomato Inc. operating as Tumblers Restaurant of Regina, has pled guilty to one charge under Saskatchewan's The Labour Standards Act.

The company pled guilty to one count for failure to provide payroll records upon demand to a Labour Standards Officer, under Section 66(c). Charges against the Corporate Director were stayed.

The company was fined $300 and a surcharge of $60 for the offense, for a total fine of $360.

The Labour Standards Division of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety supports fair and equitable workplace practices through public awareness and enforcement of The Labour Standards Act and regulations as well as other labour legislation. Whenever necessary, violations will be prosecuted.

In the past twelve months, Labour Standards has convicted nine employers for violating different provisions of the legislation. Five additional prosecutions against employers are currently pending.
