PREMIER CALLS SASKATOON NORTHWEST BYELECTION FOR OCTOBER 18

Released on September 20, 2010

Premier Brad Wall today announced that voters in the constituency of Saskatoon Northwest will go to the polls in a provincial by-election on Monday, October 18.

Wall said he wanted to ensure the people of Saskatoon Northwest had a voice in the Legislature when the fall session starts on October 27.

"Saskatchewan has the lowest unemployment rate in Canada, there are nearly 14,000 more people working than a year ago, and we are once again forecast to lead the country in economic growth," Wall said. "Our government will run on its record of moving Saskatchewan forward through a growing economy that benefits all Saskatchewan people.

"I look forward to a vigorous campaign by all the candidates and parties."
