Motorists are advised to be aware of upcoming and ongoing provincial highway construction projects while travelling throughout Saskatchewan.
"Recent warm weather has allowed much construction work to continue as we head into this holiday long weekend," Highways and Infrastructure Minister Jim Reiter said. "Remember, be cautious and alert when approaching any road construction and obey all flag persons and slow to 60 km/hr when passing highway workers and equipment in the Orange Zone."
New activity expected to be underway next week includes two culvert installations at two different locations northwest of the Qu'Appelle River Bridge, near Katepwa Point Provincial Park on Highway 56, along with a culvert installation on Highway 11 near Craik. For more details and a list of other long-term projects in various stages of construction or progress, please see the attached backgrounder.
For emergency road closures due to severe weather, flooding or forest fires, status of ferries and barges, along with other maintenance activities, motorists and media are encouraged to check the Highway Hotline.
