SASK GAMING HONOURED FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Released on November 25, 2010

Sask Gaming has been named a winner of the 2010 Communitas Awards in the Leadership in Community Service and Corporate Social Responsibility category.

"Sask Gaming is committed to doing business in a responsible manner and providing benefits to the people of Saskatchewan," Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Ken Cheveldayoff said. "I want to congratulate Sask Gaming on receiving this well-deserved recognition."

The Communitas Awards is an international competition that grew out of the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals' pro bono recognition program. The awards recognize the spirit of communitas - people helping people - and are given to exceptional businesses, organizations and individuals for their efforts involving volunteerism, philanthropy or ethical and sustainable business practices. More information on the awards is available at www.communitasawards.com.

Sask Gaming was selected for the award based on its Corporate Social Responsibility Framework. The framework, adopted in 2009, contains guiding principles that direct how the corporation conducts its business practices to create a positive impact in the community.

One example of the corporation's actions under the framework is its community giving program. Each year, Sask Gaming donates a portion of its profits to local organizations that are working to enhance the quality of life for Saskatchewan people. Last year, Sask Gaming gave over $670,000 to community organizations and events that contribute to community development, education and recruitment, health and medicine, social programs, the arts, culture and sports.

Sask Gaming's Corporate Social Responsibility Framework is available at www.casinoregina.com and www.casinomoosejaw.com.
