SASKATCHEWAN YOUTH AWARD PRESENTED

Today in Regina Premier Brad Wall presented the Saskatchewan Youth Award to six young people. The Saskatchewan Youth Award is bestowed on citizens ages 15 to 24 who have made significant contributions to Saskatchewan through personal accomplishments and outstanding achievement.

"The outstanding leadership of these six young citizens has inspired those around them and they have become role models - to young and old alike," Wall said. "Their actions and efforts demonstrate beyond any doubt, that youth play a crucial role in the future of our province, and that future is bright."

The recipients are:

  • Katie Bacon, Ogema
  • Miranda Mark, Saskatoon
  • Anna Morsky, Saskatoon
  • Dane Sanderson, Prince Albert
  • Leejay Schmidt, Melfort
  • Brooklyn Simes, Saskatoon

Recipients are selected from nominations submitted by the public. Selections are made by an independent committee comprised of members of the Saskatchewan Honours Advisory Council and youth representatives.
