Released on May 6, 2010
Seven senior ranking municipal police officers from Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Estevan and Luseland will be presented with Commissions at Government House on May 6.
"These commissions demonstrate the professionalism and dedication of Saskatchewan's police services," Corrections, Public Safety and Policing Minister D.F. (Yogi) Huyghebaert said.
In 2007 Saskatchewan became the first province in Canada to recognize the achievements of senior ranking municipal police officers through the presentation of a formal Commission issued by the Lieutenant Governor. Traditionally, the presentation of formal commissions has been made to RCMP officers in recognition of their achievement of a senior rank.
The police officers receiving this year's commissions are Inspector Dave Haye, Inspector Shelley Ballard and Inspector Larry Vols of Saskatoon Police Service; Inspector Brian Bonkowski, Prince Albert Police Service; Inspector Robert W. Dean, Regina Police Service; Chief Delbert Block, Estevan Police Service; and Chief Jason Mochoruk, Luseland Police Service.
