MINISTERS CONTINUE TOUR OF AREAS RECEIVING EXCESS AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE

Released on June 10, 2010

On Monday, June 14, Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud and Crown Investments Corporation Minister and MLA for Kelvington-Wadena June Draude, will tour some of the areas that have received excess amounts of moisture this spring in northeast Saskatchewan.

Accompanying the Ministers on this tour will be Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities President David Marit, Reeve Wes Black from the RM of Porcupine, and Deputy Reeve Dean Lanning from the RM of Porcupine.

"This spring has been frustrating for many farmers who are trying to get their crops seeded," Bjornerud said. "Seeing the wet conditions first hand gives me a better grasp of the challenges producers in these areas are facing."

The areas to be toured include Tisdale, Hudson Bay, Porcupine Plain, Kelvington, Rose Valley and Bjorkdale.

On Monday, June 7, Ministers Bjornerud and Draude also toured the Wynyard, Foam Lake, Kuroki and Wadena areas with RM of Foam Lake Reeve Chris Gislason and Margo area farmer Collin Redman.
