PERFORMERS ANNOUNCED FOR THE SASKATCHEWAN PAVILION

Released on January 18, 2010

A great line-up of talented Saskatchewan performers takes to the stage in Vancouver

The Government of Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the entertainers who will be performing at the Saskatchewan Pavilion Entertainment Centre during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

"We believe we have selected a fantastic group of performers for Saskatchewan's Pavilion," Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Dustin Duncan said. "The members of this group will help show Canada and the world the diversity, depth and talent of Saskatchewan's artistic community."

These artists performing at Saskatchewan's Pavilion are in addition to those taking part in the Cultural Olympiad, the 2010 Olympic Winter Games' signature arts and cultural event.

Artists who were interested in performing at the Saskatchewan Pavilion were asked to register with the Saskatchewan Arts Board. In total, 246 registered and 18 groups and individuals were chosen. A list of performers is attached and more information about the artists is available by visiting the "Entertainment" section of www.saskpavilion.ca.

"Last week's Olympic Torch Relay created tremendous excitement and pride as it passed through our province," Duncan said. "We're taking that energy to Vancouver with this line-up of great Saskatchewan talent to perform at our provincial venue."

Updates on the construction progress of Saskatchewan's Pavilion, along with additional information can be found by going to www.saskpavilion.ca.
