The Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation continues to work with communities and organizations to preserve the province's architectural heritage and maintain its cultural treasures.
Today the Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation announced the allocation of more than $243,000 for 32 conservation, 11 research, 12 education and five special projects. Individual grants range from $500 each for a heritage inventory in Moosomin and the development of a historical walking tour in Gravelbourg to $20,000 each for preservation work on Harding House in Regina and Melville City Hall - both Provincial Heritage Properties.
"The Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation's grant programs complement the commitment, hard work and economic resources of communities, agencies and individuals across Saskatchewan," Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Dustin Duncan said. "By working together to value and preserve our shared heritage, we acknowledge how that history can help guide us as we move forward."
The Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation is a Crown corporation that works closely with the Heritage Resources Branch of the Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport. It acquires, manages and develops real and moveable property in the name of the Crown and accepts the donation of cash monies, property and other bequests.
