NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR PREMIER'S AWARD

Released on February 4, 2010

Saskatchewan residents have until April 30, 2010 to nominate provincial employees for the 2010 Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service. The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the government and citizens of the province.

"Saskatchewan's public servants are talented individuals who work hard for the people of this province," Premier Brad Wall said. "We all benefit from their professionalism and dedication."

"This award is presented to members of Saskatchewan's public service who have made outstanding on-the-job contributions to the government and citizens of the province," Provincial Secretary June Draude said. "It gives us an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and the work that they do for the people of Saskatchewan."

Individuals or teams from government ministries, some Treasury Board Crown Corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public. Selections are made by an independent committee. Up to six awards will be announced during National Public Service Week in June, with the presentation event occurring in the fall.
