Released on August 3, 2010

Health Minister Don McMorris announced the appointment of La Ronge Fire Chief Ron Pratt and youth program coordinator Lorraine Bear of Sandy Bay, to the Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority Board. Pratt was designated Vice-Chairperson.

"These appointments will strengthen Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region's ability to find innovative solutions to the challenges of maintaining access to quality health services," McMorris said. "I encourage the board members to work together to find solutions on a regional level. By working together, we can achieve a health system that is more efficient and patient-centred."

Their appointments are in effect until January 2012.

"The board welcomes these two members and the perspectives they bring from their communities," Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority Chairperson Joe Hordyski said. "I look forward to their contributions as we work together in wellness to ensure accessible, quality healthcare for our residents."

Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region serves a large area of northeast Saskatchewan, from Pinehouse Lake to the Manitoba border and from as far south as Timber Bay, to north of Wollaston Lake.
