NEW ACTING PRESIDENT APPOINTED AT WATERSHED AUTHORITY

After eight years of service to the Government of Saskatchewan, Alan Parkinson will be stepping down as the President of the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority to accept a position as the Director of Regional Adaptation and Practice Change Division with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Prior to his appointment to the Watershed Authority in November of 2007, Parkinson had served as the Deputy Minister of Northern Affairs and Deputy Minister of Environment.

"On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, I would like to thank Mr. Parkinson for his years of outstanding service to the province," Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority Nancy Heppner said. "I wish him all the best as he embarks on a new chapter in his already distinguished career."

Saskatchewan Watershed Authority Vice President of Operations Wayne Dybvig, P.Eng, has been named as Acting President.

"I am pleased that Mr. Dybvig accepted this appointment," Heppner said. "I am confident his previous experience will provide the necessary leadership to the organization."

Dybvig has had a lengthy and distinguished career in water management for more than 30 years with the governments of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Canada.

The Saskatchewan Watershed Authority leads management of the province's water resources to ensure safe drinking water sources and reliable water supplies for the economic, environmental and social benefit of the people of Saskatchewan.
