Drivers are advised to be aware of new and ongoing provincial highways construction work.
"Motorists can use this information to help plan road trips and should allow for extra time if they're travelling through a construction zone," Highways and Infrastructure Minister Jim Reiter said. "Please slow to 60 km/h when passing highway workers and equipment, while remembering base fines start at $140 for speeding through an Orange Zone."
New work expected to be underway this week is construction on Highway 16 near Maymont and Radisson. More details about this work and a list of other ongoing projects are available in the attached backgrounder.
Construction work is subject to weather conditions and contractor progress. Motorists can get other important travel information on the Summer Road Conditions and Road Conditions Map sections of the Highway Hotline online at www.highways.gov.sk.ca/road-conditions/.
Highway Hotline information via telephone is as follows: Regina and area at 306-787-7623; Saskatoon and area at 306-933-8333; on the SaskTel Cellular Network at *ROAD; and throughout Canada at 1-888-335-7623.
