SASKATCHEWAN HOUSING CORPORATION HONOURS VOLUNTEERS

A luncheon honouring 12 Saskatchewan volunteers for more than a quarter century of service to their local housing authority will be held today in Regina.

"The provincial government and the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation truly value the dedication and hard work of our Housing volunteers throughout the province," Social Services Minister and Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Housing Corporation Donna Harpauer said. "These volunteers, like those being honoured today, go out of their way to make life better for their friends and neighbours in their respective communities."

The luncheon, which was hosted by Minister Harpauer, honoured the following individuals for their years of volunteer service with their respective local housing authority:

25 years:
• Barbara Torwalt, Leroy
• Joyce Haas, Kelvington
• Deanna Schafer, Mankota
• Victor Delhommeau, Luseland
• Marilyn Welcher, Welwyn
• Sheila Marsh, Welwyn
• Patrick Farrell, Creelman
• Beatrice Struthers, Ogema

30 years:
• James Dushire, Wilkie
• Larry Shaw, Morse
• Donna Selinger, Lampman

35 years:
• Julie Gerwing, Lake Lenore

Saskatchewan has a network of 280 housing authorities served by more than 1,500 volunteer members across the province. The Province of Saskatchewan appoints these volunteers, and recognition of long-service is a regular initiative by the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation.
