BOARD MEMBERS NAMED TO SASKATCHEWAN CANCER AGENCY

Health Minister Don McMorris has announced new appointments to the board of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.

Regina physician Dr. J. Stewart McMillan will serve as Chair. McMillan is a current member of the board and previously chaired the boards of the Health Services Utilization Research Council and Health Quality Council. He has been actively involved with a wide variety of health quality and research organizations and professional associations.

McMorris also announced the appointment of Ronald Waschuk as Vice Chair. Waschuk is a retired pharmacist from Waskesiu Lake who has extensive senior management experience in the public and private sectors. Regina businesswoman Vaughn Solomon-Schofield will also join the board as a member.

"These respected, experienced individuals will help us shape the future of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, and uphold its reputation for excellence," McMorris said. "I know they share our government's desire to provide Saskatchewan patients with the best cancer care in Canada. With their help and leadership, we will achieve that goal."

The appointments are effective immediately.

The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency is responsible for planning, organizing and delivering cancer care services through its two cancer centres in Regina and Saskatoon.
