STC’S $7 SENIORS ANYWHERE FARE

Released on August 20, 2009

In just a few weeks the Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) will be offering the deepest discounted seat sale in the company's history.

The STC's "$7 Seniors Anywhere Fare" will allow seniors (age 60 and older) to travel in Saskatchewan on any STC scheduled routes (one way) for only $7 during the month of September.

"This seat sale is targeted towards seniors as we believe that they represent an important market in which we hope to expand our ridership," Minister Responsible for the Saskatchewan Transportation Company Jim Reiter said. "This is also a great opportunity for seniors in our province to experience the services STC has to offer and to learn about the advantages of bus travel as an efficient and comfortable means of transportation."

STC offers 29 routes across the province and connects 282 communities, making the service accessible and affordable to many Saskatchewan residents.

In 2009, STC offered targeted discounts to increase ridership during off peak periods. There is also an environmental aspect for promoting bus travel, as for every added person on the bus, there is potentially one less car on the road.

More information about the "$7 Seniors Anywhere Fare", including route information, can be accessed at www.stcbus.com, by calling 1-800-663-7181 or by visiting your local STC Agent.
