GAVIN SEMPLE HONOURED BY CANADIAN MANUFACTURERS

Gavin Semple, President of the Brandt Group of Companies of Regina was one of six individuals inducted into the Canadian Manufacturing Hall of Fame at a ceremony held in Windsor, Ontario last evening.

The Canadian Manufacturing Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the economic, political, educational or technological development of the Canadian manufacturing industry.

"On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan I want to extend my congratulations to Mr. Semple on receiving this prestigious national award for excellence in manufacturing," Enterprise and Innovation Minister Lyle Stewart said. "The leadership and hard work of Mr. Semple has been an integral part of building a thriving manufacturing sector not only here in Saskatchewan, but across the nation."

Gavin Semple is the President and General Manager of the Brandt Group of Companies, the largest privately owned company in the province. Semple is also the Deputy Chair of the Enterprise Saskatchewan Board of Directors. He has served on several Boards including Doepker Industries, Canada Post Corporation, Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, Prairie Implement Manufacturers Association, Saskatchewan Research Council, Regina Regional Economic Development Authority (REDA), Saskatchewan Safety Council and others. He also actively supports community organizations such as the Regina Exhibition Association (Evraz Place) and Luther College. Semple also received the Saskatchewan Order of Merit in 2008.
