SASKATCHEWAN TO HOST DIPLOMATIC ECONOMIC MISSION

Released on October 31, 2008

Diplomats representing 24 countries will be in Saskatchewan November 2-5 to attend a Diplomatic Economic Mission.

Delegates representing many of Saskatchewan's most important trading partners will take part in sessions and site tours across the province. These gatherings will focus on promoting Saskatchewan's innovation agenda.

Premier Brad Wall will also speak to the delegates at a dinner co-hosted by the Province of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership.

"Our message to the diplomatic delegates is simple: Saskatchewan is doing some very innovative things that you need to know about," Wall said. "The mission provides a unique opportunity for Saskatchewan to profile key sectors of the Saskatchewan economy as well as the importance of our aboriginal residents in both our history and our future."

The Diplomatic Economic Forum is organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
