SHUFFLE TO SENIOR CIVIL SERVICE

Deputy Minister to the Premier and Cabinet Secretary Garnet Garven today announced changes in senior civil service.

Deputy Minister Al Hilton moves from the Ministry of Intergovernmental Affairs to become the Deputy Minister of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing where he has been serving in an acting role.

"Mr. Hilton is a long serving deputy minister and we look forward to his strong policy and management skills in this important ministry," Garven said.

Deputy Minister Harley Olsen moves from Municipal Affairs to assume the leadership of Intergovernmental Affairs.

"Mr. Olsen has a long history in the provincial and federal public service and will be invaluable in the area of federal-provincial relations," Garven said.

Deputy Minister Terry Coleman moves from Corrections, Public Safety and Policing to become Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs.

"We thank Mr. Coleman for his leadership and contributions to Corrections, Public Safety and Policing and look forward to his Alberta and Saskatchewan background and experience in the municipal sector," Garven said.

"I want to thank these three deputies for their leadership in their former ministries and look forward to their continuing contributions in these new areas of responsibility," Premier Brad Wall said.
