The Securities Division of the Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission (SFSC) issued a temporary cease trade order November 12, 2008, against York Rio Resources Inc., Victor York also known as Victor Georgiadis, Adam Sherman also known as Jason Sebrooke and Michael Chambers, Tom Parker, Joe London, Peter Robinson, Mark Roberts, Abraham Saks, Michael Walsh and Kevin Crawford. Victor York is the President and sole director of York Rio while Sherman, Parker, London, Robinson, Roberts, Saks, Walsh and Crawford act on behalf of York Rio as sales representatives. The order expires on November 27, 2008, and may be extended.
The order directs York Rio and its named representatives to cease trading and advising in securities and exchange contracts.
York Rio and its representatives are not registered in Saskatchewan to sell or give advice about securities. York Rio operates a web site that tells visitors that York Rio is a Canadian mining company that specializes in the supply of diamonds, with a focus on locating and developing mineral projects worldwide.
Representatives of York Rio are and have been actively selling York Rio shares to Saskatchewan residents. On October 21, 2008, the Ontario Securities Commission issued a temporary order, ordering that York Rio and a related company Brilliante Brasilcan Resources Corp., Victor York and others cease trading in Ontario.
Anyone who has been contacted by York Rio, Brilliante or its representatives is asked to contact the SFSC, Enforcement branch at 306-787-5936.
