Premier Brad Wall will travel to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to take part in the Western Governors' Association (WGA) 2008 annual meeting, which takes place June 29 to July 1.
Topics on the meeting's agenda include:
- Energy and climate change;
- Protecting wildlife corridors;
- Managing water resources; and
- Expansion of electricity transmission.
The meeting will be chaired by Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal, who visited Saskatchewan last month during the Western Premiers' Conference hosted by Premier Wall.
"I want to take every opportunity on behalf of the province to tell the Saskatchewan story," Wall said. "The meeting is also a good opportunity to build Saskatchewan's profile on the continent and identify opportunities for inter-jurisdictional co-operation that can benefit our citizens."
The Western Governors' Association annual meetings bring together the governors of 19 states and three U.S.-flag Pacific Islands. All four western Premiers are also attending this year's conference. More information can be found at www.westgov.org.
