Released on July 10, 2008

"After a national search, a new Deputy Minister has been selected for the Ministry of Health," Deputy Premier Ken Krawetz said. "Dan Florizone, currently the CEO of the Five Hills Health Region, will be joining the ministry August 1, 2008. Mr. Florizone brings both excellent credentials and strong health sector experience to this important role."

The Deputy Premier also announced the appointment of a new Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Social Services.

"Dr. Allan Hansen will become Deputy Minister of Social Services effective July 15, 2008," Krawetz said. "Dr. Hansen has served in the social services sector in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba and brings a wealth of valuable experience to his new role."

The Deputy Premier also thanked two senior civil servants for their contributions to the government as they undertake new responsibilities. Duncan Fisher, who moves from the role of Deputy Minister of Social Services to the position of Special Adviser in the Ministry of Health, and Gren Smith Windsor, who moves from the role of Acting Deputy Minister of Health to the position of Associate Deputy Minister of Health.

"Both Mr. Fisher and Mr. Smith Windsor served the government well during the early months of our mandate," Krawetz said.
