RECORDS FOUND STORED IN AREA OF REGINA CORRECTIONAL CENTRE

Corrections, Public Safety and Policing officials are looking into the finding on the weekend of boxes of correctional centre records that were placed in a storage room at the Regina Correctional Centre.

The boxes contain files no longer in use that the Ministry is required to retain according to the retention period required under The Archives Act. These documents include offender program files, meeting minutes and personnel information.

Ministry officials have contacted the province's Information and Privacy Commissioner.
