PREMIER’S AWARD PRESENTED TO PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEES

Released on October 3, 2007

Premier Lorne Calvert presented the 2007 Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service today.

"Saskatchewan's public servants are remarkable individuals who work hard to make this province the best place for families and young people to build strong futures," Calvert said. "We are pleased to show our sincere appreciation for their contributions and achievements through the presentation of this award."

The Premier's Award for Excellence recognizes public service employees in three categories: Innovation, Quality Service and Leadership.

Individuals or teams from government departments, most Treasury Board Crown Corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public.

The individual recipients are:

  • Dallas Gislason - Regional Economic and Co-operative Development - Leadership;
  • David Stanchuk - Saskatchewan Communications Network - Leadership; and
  • Dr. Jane Thurgood Sagal - Learning - Leadership.

The team recipients are:

  • Adult Basic Education Redesign Task Team - Advanced Education and Employment - Leadership;
  • BizPaL Team - Industry and Resources - Quality Service; and
  • Prince Albert Therapeutic Group Home Team - Community Resources - Quality Service.

An independent selection panel reviewed the nominations and selected the recipients.
