SASKATCHEWAN YOUTH AWARD RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Premier Lorne Calvert announced today the names of five young people who will receive the Saskatchewan Youth Award.

Established in 2006, this is the first provincial award to recognize young people in Saskatchewan who have made valuable contributions to the province and demonstrated outstanding achievement.

“Our young people are committed to building a prosperous and bright future for the people of Saskatchewan,” Calvert said.  “The recipients of the Saskatchewan Youth Award are outstanding citizens who have used their skills and talent to make a tremendous impact in their communities and beyond.”
 
The 2006 recipients are:

• Kaytlyn Barber, Regina Beach
• BJ Bodnar, Saskatoon
• Valerie Butt, Mantario
• Lisa Dollansky, Biggar
• Cory Harrower, Regina

The recipients will receive their awards on June 3, 2007.

Recipients will be selected annually by the Saskatchewan Honours Advisory Council from nominations submitted by the public.
