NEW APPOINTMENTS TO SUNRISE REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITY

Released on March 19, 2007

Health Minister Len Taylor today announced the appointment of three new members to the Sunrise Regional Health Authority.

Joining the decision-making body are Foam Lake educator Patricia Hack, Yorkton business owner Dennis Popowich, and retired education manager Lawrence Chomos, of Esterhazy.

“An important part of maintaining a strong health care system is the governance provided by regional health authority members who have a wide range of experience and skills,” Taylor said.  “These three new members of the health authority bring experience on health boards, community service and in their chosen fields.”

“We look forward to the addition of three new members to our board,” Sunrise Regional Health Authority chair Ivan Peterson said.  “I welcome the addition of their skills and experiences, plus the new positive perspectives they will bring to the board table.”

The appointments are in effect until July 2008.  The province’s health authorities are responsible for the planning, organization, delivery and evaluation of health services within each of 12 health regions.
