The March 15 deadline for youth to apply for the Saskatchewan Youth Project Awards is fast approaching.
Young people aged 14 to 29 are invited to submit applications for funding between $500 and $5,000 for community based projects. The projects must be youth-led, not-for-profit and delivered in Saskatchewan. Applications will be adjudicated by a jury of young people.
“Great ideas make things happen,” Culture, Youth and Recreation Minister Glenn Hagel said. “If you are a young person looking to make a difference in your community, the Saskatchewan Youth Project Awards can support your great idea with up to $5,000 in funding.”
Youth who wish to participate must submit a Project Concept by March 15. A link to online Project Concept forms is available at www.saskyouth.net, along with additional information on criteria and the adjudication process.
“By engaging youth more actively in the voluntary sector in their own communities, we are ensuring Saskatchewan remains the best place to live, work and build strong futures,” Hagel said.
The Saskatchewan Youth Project Awards were developed by the Provincial Youth Advisory Committee, a group of 25 young people from across the province who provide advice to the Government of Saskatchewan on issues related to youth.
