Health services across Saskatchewan continue to operate under strike contingency plans during this time of Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan's (HSAS) limited job action.

The following are the updated statistics as of 11 a.m., July 4, 2007:

  • Two patients have been airlifted out of province.
  • In the Saskatoon Health Region, 20 individuals have been notified that their surgery has been cancelled for a total of 79 notifications.
  • In the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region, five individuals have been notified that their surgery has been cancelled for a total of 45 notifications.
  • Hospitals will continue to discharge patients no longer in need of acute care.

This update will be sent 2 p.m. daily, as long as health sector contingency plans are in effect.

Regional health authorities are providing information to the public in their communities regarding service disruptions. Residents are asked to contact their individual regional health authorities for detailed information.
