POLLING RESULTS RELEASED

Released on January 23, 2007

The government today released polling results for the third quarter of 2006/2007. The research is used to develop, deliver and improve programs and services.

Among the results are surveys used to evaluate the Orange Zone highway safety campaign, awareness of forest fire safety, use of Saskatchewan Transportation Company services and viewership of the Saskatchewan Communications Network.

As well, polling also found that population loss is currently the most important issue for Saskatchewan people, followed by health care, jobs and agriculture. The same survey found that half of respondents rate the quality of life in Saskatchewan as high.

The total cost of all government polling for the third quarter of 2006/2007 is $182,404. The next release will be in April 2007 and will cover the period from January 1 to March 31.
