ISC SUPPORTS BREAST ASSESSMENT CENTRE AT REGINA'S PASQUA HOSPITAL

Released on January 9, 2007

Minister responsible for Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan (ISC) Eric Cline today announced a major donation of $200,000 to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation to benefit the Breast Assessment Centre at the Regina Pasqua Hospital.

"Access to timely, effective diagnosis and treatment is essential to improving outcomes for patients with breast cancer," Cline said. "By supporting the Breast Assessment Centre, ISC will help ensure women from across southern Saskatchewan have access to the very best care and state-of-the-art equipment close to home."

ISC's $200,000 donation will purchase important technology and equipment that will aid in early detection and treatment, including:

• computer archiving and reporting software that brings past and present mammography reports into the same file, critical in tracking and diagnosing changes over time; and

• a Sentinelle table to aid in MRI guided core-biopsy.

"Breast cancer has directly affected several ISC employees and their families and we have seen first hand how devastating the disease can be," ISC president and CEO Mark MacLeod said. "We hope that our contribution will truly make a difference and help ensure that people get the first rate care they deserve."

"ISC's $200,000 donation has enabled the Foundation to achieve an incredible milestone – the completion of our initial campaign to enhance the Breast Assessment Centre," Hospitals of Regina Foundation CEO Judy Davis said. "This donation not only ensures every piece of equipment on the initial wish list has now been purchased; the newly created ISC Breast Assessment Fund will help the Centre stay current with technology of the future. We're grateful to ISC for demonstrating such strong commitment to enhanced health care with this generous gift."

Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan is the provincial Crown corporation responsible for the administration of land titles, survey and personal property registries, as well as related geographic information and mapping systems.

Formed as a corporation in January 2000, but with a history that pre-dates the province itself, ISC provides valued customer-focused services through all business channels, including the Internet, telephone, fax and in-person at its eight regional customer service centres located throughout the province.
