In its ongoing commitment to make life better for families and create a bright future for young people, the Government of Saskatchewan has recently invested almost $75 million for capital projects in the Parkland Central Region.
"Through the hard work of the people of this province and our government, Saskatchewan's economy is booming like never before and residents in Parkland Central are benefiting directly from these efforts," Advanced Education and Employment Minister Warren McCall said during a visit to Nipawin. "We have been able to provide funding for a variety of capital projects that will enhance the quality of life for people living in the area, improve upon the business climate and give people even more reason to live, work and build their future in Saskatchewan."
McCall was in Nipawin to announce a $2.1 million renovation to the Cumberland Regional College. Other projects that have received funding include upgrades to highways and grid roads in the area, as well as improvements to water treatment and sewage systems.
"Saskatchewan's economy is strong, and these investments will ensure that our communities continue to thrive," McCall said. "This year's infrastructure budget is the largest ever. By investing in our highways, cultural and recreational facilities, health care systems and municipal infrastructure, we are ensuring that communities province-wide are in a position to capitalize on the many opportunities being created by Saskatchewan's growing economy, and to provide even more reason for young people and families to build their future in Saskatchewan."
