CASINO REGINA TO LIGHT UP THE SKY!

Released on October 5, 2006

Move over New York and Las Vegas – Casino Regina is launching Casino Regina Sky Lights, an LED light show that will rival the illuminated, massive signs of Times Square and the pulsating brilliance of the Las Vegas Strip.

"Casino Regina seeks out fun, fresh and exciting ways to be entertaining, and we're delighted to be bringing to Saskatchewan people and our guests an exterior light show the calibre of which has never before been seen in Canada," Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Glenn Hagel said. "Casino Regina's commitment to outstanding entertainment has greatly impacted the Saskatchewan economy; its economic impact is equivalent to hosting six Grey Cups every year, for the past 10 years."

The Casino Regina Sky Lights kicks off the biggest weekend in Saskatchewan history - two Rolling Stones concerts, which Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw partnered to bring to the Queen City on October 6th and 8th.

"We're thrilled to have played a role in bringing the Rolling Stones to Regina, and our Sky Lights are a great kick-start to Regina's Bigger, Bigger Bang weekend," President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Marty Klyne said. "We put the always in 'Always Entertaining', and this magnificent show is going to excite and enchant our guests."

The light show is a sequence of multi-coloured lights, which are programmed to change to the rhythm of the music. The light show is capable of over 16 million colour combinations, so each show is a new and entertaining event for audiences. Once inside Casino Regina, visitors will be able to take in a light show that illuminates the interior architecture of the historic Union Station.

"The combination of the music and lights together is a moving experience," Klyne said. "Brilliant red, blue, green, amber, purple, pink and every colour in between pulse, dance and swirl to flood Casino Regina."

The public is invited to check out Casino Regina Sky Lights based on the following schedule:

October 5th - 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
