PREMIER ANNOUNCES GOVERNOR GENERAL VISIT

Premier Lorne Calvert announced today that the Governor General will visit Saskatchewan.

Their Excellencies, the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond will travel to Regina, Qu'Appelle and Fort Qu'Appelle from May 8th-10th, 2006.

"I am pleased that Their Excellencies will visit Saskatchewan," Calvert said. "While the visit includes many official activities, there are several occasions for Their Excellencies to meet and talk to local residents."

This will be Her Excellency's first visit to Saskatchewan.

A detailed itinerary of the Governor General's visit to Saskatchewan will be released prior to the visit.
