TWO FULL-TIME MEMBERS ADDED TO AUTO INJURY APPEAL COMMISSION

Barbara Tomkins of Regina and Jane Lancaster, Q.C., of Saskatoon have been appointed as full-time members of the Automobile Injury Appeal Commission.

"The appointment of two full-time members will improve service to those applying to the Commission for a review," Justice Minister Frank Quennell said. "I am very pleased to appoint two individuals with such a wealth of experience in the legal field."

The Appeal Commission was established by amendments to The Automobile Accident Insurance Act made in 2002. Individuals who are not satisfied with a decision affecting their benefits under No Fault Coverage can have the decision reviewed by the independent appeal commission. The Commission has the authority to set aside, confirm or vary benefit decisions made by SGI.

Part-time members of the Commission are: Ann Phillips, Q.C., Chair; Beverly Cleveland; Dr. Mukesh Mirchandani; Al Knippel; Jeffrey Scott; Joy Dobko; Tim Brown; Darlene Topp; Peter Bergbusch; Marjory Gammel; Conrad Knatiuk; Carolyn Jones; Stanley Loewen, Q.C.; Carol Olson; Stephanie Lynne Pfefferle and Jean MacKay.
