Saskatchewan seniors who purchased a 2006 angling licence before the free angling licences became available can now get a refund. To apply for the refund, seniors, aged 65 years and older, should take their angling licence to any Saskatchewan Environment office or provincial park office.Saskatchewan Environment is encouraging seniors to take advantage of the benefits of the Seniors' Gold Plan, which includes free park entry and free angling licences.
Seniors who produce proof of age and Saskatchewan residency are able to obtain a free angling licence from any of the over 1,000 angling licence vendors across the province. Although the licence is free, seniors are required to obtain one and meet all other fishing regulations, such as honouring catch limits and fishing seasons.
Saskatchewan seniors will also receive a free park entry permit when they enter a provincial park upon providing identification verifying their age and residency. All people travelling in a passenger vehicle with a senior will also receive free entry to provincial parks.
Seniors will be required to pay other park fees, such as camping and swimming pool fees. Seniors from out of province will be required to pay regular park entry fees and buy angling licences.
There is no expiry date on the Seniors' Gold Plan. Information in the 2006 Parks Guide and the 2006 Anglers' Guide does not reflect the details of the Gold Plan.
