Premier Lorne Calvert today realigned his Cabinet to confirm government's focus as the province enters its second century.
"Our economy is stronger than it has been in decades," Calvert said. "With this to build on, we do not stand still nor lose sight of the sacrifices made by each, to enjoy the 'have' province we are today. Our mission as government, is to seamlessly weave that unbreakable social fabric in all sectors of our society, so that neighbours at every corner, at every crossroad, can enjoy this as a province where there is decent life and equal opportunity for all; a province second to none as a place to live, work and raise a family."
The Premier announced plans to launch one of the most significant undertakings of government since taking over five years ago.
"We will make some fundamental system changes with a new department of Advanced Education and Employment, to improve support and linkages for individuals and their connection to a promising future," he said. "Through building new linkages, and breaking down traditional barriers, we will open doors to opportunity and connect people to employment services and careers in Saskatchewan."

"By assigning responsibility with clear and specific focus and mandates, it is my government's intention to give an even stronger voice to specific areas – appreciative that the future of our province will be defined by young people and hence our need to enable every advantage our society and economy can provide," Calvert said.
"We are steadfast in this pursuit as recently affirmed in our Throne Speech. We dream of a province where no one is left behind on the path to opportunity, a province with an unbreakable social fabric, built on the foundation of diverse and growing communities, in a green and prosperous economy," Calvert added. "It is to the service of Saskatchewan people we commit all efforts of our government. Ours is a vision sharply focused to fulfill our four-year plan."
