NEW APPOINTMENTS TO SASKATCHEWAN CANCER AGENCY BOARD

Eleven members have been appointed to the board of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. The appointments become effective January 2, 2007 the day The Cancer Agency Act comes into effect.

Health Minister Len Taylor announced the appointment of Jon Schubert as chairperson and Carolyn Rebeyka as the vice-chairperson along with nine other members. New board appointees have a mix of backgrounds in health, finance, business and organizational governance.

"The people of this province rely on the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency to provide quality cancer care in an increasingly complex environment," Taylor said. "I want to thank departing chairperson Gary Semenchuck and the other board members who have served the agency and the province for many years."

"I look forward to working with the staff of the Cancer Agency as well as the individuals who have agreed to put their community and business experience to work to provide quality cancer care services in Saskatchewan," said Schubert.
